How to read Korean public-official asset disclosures

• A disclosure records reported items at a specified date; it does not guarantee current holdings.
• Use organization, position and publication date to distinguish people with the same name.
• Maps and statistics are indexes for reaching the original record.

Korea's public-official asset disclosure system publishes defined information to support transparency in public service. The record reflects the statutory scope, reporting date and publication process; it is not written as an assessment of the person.

A large amount or prominent category does not, by itself, establish lifestyle, investment skill, financial health or misconduct. The record may not explain acquisition cost, later disposal or a subsequent correction.

The same name can belong to different officials, and one official can appear in several publication rounds. Read the name with the organization, position, disclosure date and source.

For reporting, legal review or other consequential use, open the official publication and check whether the responsible authority has issued a newer or corrected version.
