An average or rank is a product of its filters and denominator. Values from different populations should not be presented as a direct comparison.
Start with the selected population
Changing the period, region, organization, role or ownership filter changes who is counted. A number without its scope is easy to misstate.
Historical and current records should not be added as though they were different people. PWRMAP's default views reduce duplication, while expanded periods need more careful interpretation.
Order is not an evaluation
Rankings sort one reported amount. They do not assess legality, public value, liquidity, family circumstances or how the asset was acquired.
Use rankings to locate records for closer reading, then verify the source, date, amount basis and later corrections.
